Coastal Education and Research
Coastal education plays a critical role in enhancing public understanding of the complex relationships between coastal environments and human activity. Coastal areas, such as beaches and coastal sand dunes, are extremely important systems which support rich biodiversity, act as natural barriers against extreme weather, and contribute substantially inland protection. By promoting knowledge of coastal processes, environmental challenges, and sustainable practices, coastal education fosters a sense of responsibility and equips individuals and communities to make informed decisions that support the long-term health and resilience of coastal systems. My research focusses on Coastal Geomorphology and landform change, especially related to changing water levels in the Great Lakes, and utilizing mapping Drone technologies to aid in this research. Ultimately, learning more about coastal education matters because it it builds awareness and responsibility, ensuring that coastal environments can thrive for future generations.
